- You can use Langueo without an account: lessons, practice and exercises don't ask for any data.
- Only if you sign in with Google (for Flashcards and your own vocabulary categories) do we store your name, email and the cards you create.
- If you use “Create with AI”, the topic you type is sent to OpenAI to create the list. Your name and email are never sent.
- If you subscribe to Premium, payments are handled by Stripe: we never see your card details.
- No advertising, no analytics, and we never sell or share your data.
- From My account you can download your data and delete your account at any time.
1. Data controller
The controller of the personal data processed on langueo.com (“Langueo”) is:

2. What data we process and why
2.1. Using Langueo without signing in
We don't ask for any data. To make the site work, your browser stores a few preferences on your own device (light or dark theme, homepage language and your conjugation mistakes for review). This information is never sent to any server and you can delete it whenever you like. See the cookie policy for details.
2.2. Signing in with Google
Signing in is optional and only needed for Flashcards and your own vocabulary categories. In that case we process:

We don't use this data for advertising, profiling or automated decision-making.
2.3. Creating a word list with AI
In Flashcards you can ask an artificial intelligence to prepare a vocabulary list on a topic (“Create with AI”). In that case we process:

Only the text of the topic is sent to OpenAI, never your name, email or cards. Please don't include personal data in the topic. The generated list isn't saved to your flashcards until you check it and press “Import”.
2.4. Subscribing to Langueo Premium
Premium is an optional paid subscription that raises the limit of AI lists. If you subscribe, we process:

2.5. Technical data from any visit
As with any website, the hosting servers automatically log technical data about each connection (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser). It is used only to serve the site and keep it secure, based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and we don't use it to identify you.
3. Who processes data on our behalf
Langueo relies on Firebase (Google) services, which act as data processors:
- Firebase Hosting (website hosting) and Firebase Authentication (Google sign-in), provided by Google Ireland Limited.
- Firebase Realtime Database, where signed-in users' cards are stored. The database is hosted in the European Union (europe-west1 region, Belgium).
In addition, for the AI word list generator:
- OpenAI (OpenAI Ireland Limited), which creates the list from the topic you type. Under its business terms, it doesn't use data sent to its API to train its models and keeps it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. See its privacy policy.
- Hostinger International Ltd., which hosts the server running the automated process (n8n) that receives your request, checks your session and calls OpenAI.
And for Premium payments:
- Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, Ireland), which processes payments, stores your payment details and issues invoices. To prevent fraud and meet its obligations as a payment institution, Stripe processes some data as an independent controller. More information in its privacy policy.
Some of these services may involve transfers of data to the United States. OpenAI, Stripe and Google LLC participate in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or apply the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. See Google's privacy policy and Firebase's privacy information.
Fonts and all other site files are served from our own domain, without connecting to other services. We don't share your data with any other third party unless required by law.
4. How long we keep it
- Account and cards: for as long as you use the service. You can delete your account yourself from My account (it is deleted immediately) or ask us by email (within one month).
- Subscription and payment history in Langueo: for as long as you have the account; they are deleted with it.
- Invoices: kept by Stripe for the periods required by law (6 years under the Spanish Commercial Code), even if you delete your account.
- Log of AI-generated lists: 90 days; then it is deleted automatically.
- Server logs: for the limited period set by Google for Firebase Hosting.
- Data stored in your browser: until you delete it (see the cookie policy).
You can delete cards and categories yourself from Flashcards at any time, and download a copy of your data from My account.
5. Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and data portability at any time by writing to alexandrovichkarapetian@gmail.com. Tell us which right you want to exercise and the Google account email you sign in with. We will reply within one month.
If you believe we haven't handled your data properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or with the data protection authority of your country.
6. Children
Anyone can use Langueo's lessons and practice without an account. To create an account (sign in with Google), children under 14 need the consent of a parent or guardian, as required by Spanish law (Art. 7 LOPDGDD).
7. Security
The site always uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Each user's cards are protected by access rules that only allow that user, once signed in, to read and modify them.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change how we process your data (for example, by adding a new service), we will update this page and the date above. Important changes will be announced on the site.
